THE RHA FOUNDATION
Through the work of our Social Action Committee, our goal is to bring housing providers together in support of our community and bring awareness to the public of all the ways that the RHA and our members give back.
The RHA Foundation supports local organizations that address issues of housing insecurity - partnering with groups and causes for philanthropic events, fundraising initiatives, general outreach and awareness, education and advocacy, and more. The Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for underprivileged members of the community and to strengthen southern Maine’s housing opportunities now and for generations to come.
Created by the RHA Foundation, the RHA Awards recognize individuals and organizations that demonstrate exceptional contributions and outstanding service within our industry.
The Rental Housing Alliance of Southern Maine's Community Partner of the Year Award recognizes community-based organizations that demonstrate exceptional contributions and outstanding service to strengthen southern Maine’s housing opportunities.
The RHA Foundation is pleased to announce the Quality Housing Coalition (QHC) as our 2023 Community Partner!
Over the next year, we invite our members to help raise funds to support QHC's mission. QHC is a non-profit organization based in Portland, ME that works with local property owners, developers, and community organizations to provide affordable and quality housing for those who need it most in our community. All proceeds will go directly to QHC. QHC supports our community by:
- Assisting those experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity
- Helping manage all aspects of the tenancy related to tenant duties
- Providing safe and quality housing for our neighbors in need
The Rental Housing Alliance of Southern Maine's Housing Provider of the Year Award honors those who have accomplished significant achievements in the realm of housing providers over the last 12 months.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHTS
As part of our December 2021 Campaign, RHA's Social Action Committee organized a charitable giving fundraiser for a variety of local organizations that are positively impacting our southern Maine communities. Explore the three organizations below for further information and to learn more about their missions. Additional charitable campaigns to come as we continue to build out the RHA Foundation!
Furniture Friends About: Furniture Friends is a nonprofit organization that provides donated furniture to people in need throughout Greater Portland. With ongoing support from the community, they are able to fulfill their mission of “Creating Homes. Rebuilding Lives.” | Hope Acts About: Hope Acts is a nonprofit organization founded in 2012 that provides housing, English classes and other resources that support immigrants in transitioning to life in Greater Portland and in achieving their goals for a successful future. | Greater Portland Family Promise About: Greater Portland Family Promise, an affiliate of the national Family Promise program, is dedicated to addressing the needs of families facing homelessness and helping low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.
